InfoSAWIT, MUARO JAMBI – The Regent in duty of Muaro Jambi, Raden Najmi and Governor of Jambi, H. Al Haris M. H, directly saw the first palm oil harvest in Village of Baru, Sub district of Mestong, Regency of Muaro Jambi, Thursday (25/07/2024).
It was attended by many officials and the local people, such as, head of plantation agency Jambi Province, the heads of agencies in the Regency of Muaro Jambi, members of Jambi Legislators, the officials of PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) VI, the officials in Sub district of Mestong, the second assistant of Regency of Muaro Jambi Secretariat and the villagers of Baru.
In his speech, Governor Al Haris congratulated the first palm oil harvest. He hoped it would escalate the villagers/smallholders’ economy and encourage the development in the villages, regency, and the province in a whole. Al Haris also reminded the smallholders should cultivate their areas/plantations well and would not easily be provoked by others that would purchase their plantations.
“I do hope the smallholders in Village of Baru would cultivate the areas in good agricultural practices and would not be provoked by others that would buy your plantations. Keep yours to maximally get the production,” he said, as InfoSAWIT quoted from the official page of Regency of Muaro Jambi, Friday (26/7/2024).
Regent in duty of Muaro Jambi, Raden Najmi did appreciated every party for helping the smallholders and the execution of the first harvest. He said, it would be significant to get cooperation among stakeholders in the regency with the companies namely around Regency of Muaro Jambi to get the better synergy.
“I am thankful for every party for your help both in seed, daily needs, and others. Let us make the cooperation better between the regency and the company to develop our region,” Raden Najmi said.
The first palm oil harvest would be part of smallholders’ development facilitation program through zero burning in 2021. In the event, many smallholders also got (superior) palm oil seeds, daily needs for the people around, and breeding certificate by PTPN VI for the smallholders. (T2)
