CPO May be Admitted in APEC

JAKARTA–The government might be fail to list Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and rubber into environmental good list (EGL) in APEC 2013, Bali. But now there is a wider opportunity to list the products in Wish Contribute to Sustainable and Inclusive Growth to Rural Development and Poverty Alleviation. It is widely open to do it after the APEC in Qingdao, Chinawhich was held in 17-18 May, 2014.

“In APEC conference in China, Indonesia re-proposed the products contributing to village development, poverty decreasing, and sustainable progress and the proposal was accepted in the conference in 2014. After it was accepted, the group would study it,” Vice Secretary of Trade, Bayu Krisnamurthi said when discussing with some media in the office of Ministry of Trade, Jalan Ridwan Rais, Jakarta, Wednesday, (28/05/2014)

Not only CPO and rubber, Indonesia also listed other products, such as, fish, rotan and paper. There were 15 harmonized systems (HS).

“There were 15 HS to propose, they were 4 HS of CPO, 1 HS of rubber, 5 HS of paper, 3 HS of rotan, and 2 HS of fish. They were being studied in the policy of APEC. (T3)
