JAKARTA – PresidentRepublic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said, many people and governments in Southern Asia have adopted sustainable developments and green investment practices.
“Pro environment policy gets clearer in the developmental strategy of the government and privates,” he said in his speech in the Forest Asia Summit conference 2014 in Hotel Shangri-La, Jakarta, which InfoSAWIT attended, Monday (5/5/2014).
Yudhoyono said, pro environment policy is part of development strategies which cover pro-growth,, pro-job, dan pro-poor. By the strategies, the government tries to get the sustainable development within green economic vision.
The new green policy in Indonesia, he thought, is the national programme to reduce green house effect (GHE) emission and increase the carbon stock. “So we reform the forest cultivation to a higher and sustainable level,” he said.
Beside that, the governent also increases the numbers of trees to plant and prohibits to enlarge plantation in the primer area. (T3)
