JAKARTA – To realize sustainable palm oil plantation, it needs awareness and will of all planters. It will make clean industries which will be inherited to the next generations. “The implementation of sustainability should be realized by the planters (doers),” Advisor Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), Bungaran Saragih recently mentioned to InfoSAWIT in Jakarta.

Bungaran continued, it is not easy to implement sustainable concept and it is not easy to accept by all sides, especially the environment campaigner. So the sustainable concept should always develop.

It is general if the RSPO as a multi stakeholders institution which focuses to the sustainable cultivation practices for the palm oil industries, including the chain stock is not free from the critics. But, Bungaran mentioned, it is better to give developing critics; not blaming one. “RSPO accepts all critics, but developing one,” Bungaran ended his words. T3
