InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Ministry of Trade keeps expanding the exports for palm oil processing industries, such as, shipping palm oil biomass to Japan. Japan really wants palm kernel shell from Indonesia for it is the source of premier, sustainable, and environmental energy.
“We also support to get investment in downstream sector that processes palm kernel shell to be renewable energy within high calories values after the product was processed to be biomass pellet with higher density,” General Director of Resilience, Territorial, and International Industrial Access, Ministry of Industry, Eko SA Cahyanto said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Thursday (29/9/2022).
Palm kernel shell is the potential biomass that can be processed to be downstream products. In Indonesia palm kernel shell could potentially reach 11 million tons per year but 3,3 million tons were exported per year in half product.
As one development responsibility on biomass industries, Ministry of Industry through Industry Attache Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo initiated business forum for those who join Asosiasi Pengusaha Cangkang Sawit Indonesia (APCASI) with Japan Biomass Power Association (BPA).
Indonesia – Japan Business Forum on Sustainable Palm Oil Biomass Industry, was running on 26 September 2022 in collaboration among Ministry of Industry, Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Osaka, Trade Attache and Industry Attache of Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo. The business forum is to promote sustainability aspect of palm kernel shell from Indonesia and it is the time to get further biomass investment in Indonesia.
