Jakarta –Referring to the information of Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), the production of Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) by April 2014 reached 10,7 millions tons from about 2,2 millions hectares. It means, the CSPO in the world has reached 16% of the total production of crude palm oil (CPO) in the world.
According to Director of RSPO Indonesia, Desi Kusumadewi, about 5,1 million tons from 989,4 thousands hectares area derive from Indonesia. Malaysia produced CSPO about 4,5 millions ton from 1 thousand hectare. “If it is compared to Malaysia, Indonesia produces higer than Malaysia does,” she said to InfoSAWIT in Jakarta, last week.
In addition, Desi continued, Indonesia is still potential to add the CSPO production for many companies commit to produce CSPO. (T2)
