InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Indonesia’s crude palm oil (CPO) prices at PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) rose sharply on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, while Malaysian palm oil futures extended their losing streak for a third consecutive session.
KPBN set its CPO price at Rp15,100 per kilogram, up Rp212/kg, or 1.42%, from the highest offer of Rp14,888/kg recorded on Tuesday, October 27.
According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the Franco Dumai price stood at Rp15,100/kg, while FOB Talang Duku was set at Rp14,850/kg. CPO at Loco Ngabang was priced at Rp14,725/kg.
Meanwhile, benchmark palm oil futures on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange closed lower on Wednesday despite strong export demand ahead of India’s Diwali festival.
According to Reuters, the benchmark January-delivery palm oil contract fell RM14 per tonne, or 0.3%, to RM4,687 per tonne, equivalent to US$1,149.90.
Cargo surveyors estimated that Malaysian palm oil product exports during October 1–25 increased by between 46.9% and 67.7% compared with the previous month.
In the energy market, crude oil prices climbed more than 1% following an attack on a refinery in Saudi Arabia, reviving concerns about supply disruptions linked to tensions in the Middle East.
Higher crude oil prices can improve palm oil’s attractiveness as a biodiesel feedstock, given its potential to substitute for fossil fuels.
On the Dalian Commodity Exchange, the most actively traded soybean oil contract gained 0.65%, while the palm oil contract declined 0.4%. Soybean oil futures on the Chicago Board of Trade also fell 0.24%. (T2)
