Malaysia Tests Expansion of B20 Palm Biodiesel at KLIA

InfoSAWIT, KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia is moving to expand the use of B20 palm-based biodiesel within the airport transport sector, beginning with a pilot project at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) is currently in discussions with ground vehicle operators and biodiesel suppliers to blend and deploy B20 fuel at KLIA. The Ministry of Plantation and Commodities said the initiative could later extend to other airports, including Senai International Airport, depending on pilot results, funding approval, and infrastructure readiness.

The move aligns with Malaysia’s broader strategy to boost domestic palm oil demand through expanded biodiesel usage. (T2)
