InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The price of crude palm oil (CPO) at PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) was withdrawn (WD) with the highest bid at Rp14,527/kg on Monday (9/8/2025). This marks a decrease of Rp133/Kg, or about 0.91%, compared to the highest bid on Thursday (9/4/2025) which reached Rp14,660/Kg.
According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the CPO price for Franco Dumai opened at Rp14,601/Kg but was withdrawn with the highest bid reaching Rp14,527/Kg. The FOB Talang Duku price was set at Rp14,401/Kg.
Meanwhile, as reported by Reuters, palm oil futures contracts on the Malaysian exchange weakened at the start of the week, following negative movements in vegetable oils on the Dalian exchange, coupled with minimal new purchases from destination markets, which put further pressure on prices.
The benchmark CPO futures contract for November 2025 delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange fell by RM4 per ton, or 0.09%, to RM4,444 (US$1,053.58) per ton during the midday break.
On the Dalian exchange, the most active soyoil contract weakened by 0.1%, while its palm oil contract fell by 0.4%. In contrast, soyoil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) slightly increased by 0.35%. Palm oil tends to follow the movements of other vegetable oils as they compete for global market share.
According to a Reuters survey, Malaysian palm oil stocks are expected to rise for the sixth consecutive month in August, as production continues to outpace exports despite a recovery in demand.
Meanwhile, Chinese customs data showed that China's soybean imports reached 12.28 million metric tons in August, up 1.15% year-on-year. This figure is the highest on record for the month of August.
