Bulungan Regent Sends Off 33 Umrah Pilgrims from Benuanta Cooperative

InfoSAWIT, Bulungan — Bulungan Regent Syarwani officially sent off 33 umrah pilgrims who are members of Koperasi Serba Usaha Benuanta during a ceremony held at Hidayah Mosque, Sekatak Buji Village, on Saturday (January 31, 2026).

In his remarks, Syarwani expressed appreciation to the cooperative’s management and members for initiating the umrah program, describing it as part of religious development and a reflection of the cooperative’s social commitment in Bulungan Regency.

He noted that the program not only provides spiritual benefits for pilgrims, but also demonstrates the strength of cooperatives in managing members’ economic potential in a professional and sustainable manner.

“This initiative proves that cooperatives can play a broader role—not only economically, but also in religious and social development,” Syarwani said in an official statement received by InfoSAWIT on Tuesday (February 3, 2026).

Currently, Benuanta Cooperative has 617 members, who are also registered as Prospective Plasma Farmers (CPP). The cooperative partners with PT Pipit Mutiara Indah to manage 1,051 hectares of plasma plantations in Sekatak Buji Village.

The Bulungan Regency Government, Syarwani added, fully supports community-based religious development initiatives, including those driven by cooperatives, as part of sustainable regional development. (T2)
