InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero) posted rapid progress throughout its first operational year. The state-owned enterprise managed a total of 1.7 million hectares of land in 2025, with around 774,000 hectares already planted with oil palm.
President Director of Agrinas Palma Nusantara, Agus Sutomo, said the achievement was reached in less than a year after the company began carrying out its mandate to manage palm estates in February 2025.
Agus explained that when the company first received the mandate on 10 March 2025, Agrinas Palma managed only 221,000 hectares, with about 159,000 hectares already cultivated with oil palm.
“Eventually, we received land assignments five times. The last one was on 23 December 2025. Now it has reached 1.7 million hectares, but the planted area is 774,000 hectares,” Agus said during Agrinas Palma Nusantara’s first anniversary celebration at Menara Palma, South Jakarta, Friday (23/1).
According to Agus, the planted estates became the company’s main operational focus, as they are productive assets capable of generating income immediately. From those activities, Agrinas Palma claimed it managed to deliver strong financial performance in a relatively short period.
“We have earned revenue of Rp4.3 trillion, with net profit of Rp1.6 trillion. We have contributed Rp530 billion to the state treasury. And we have placed Rp1 trillion in deposits,” Agus said.
He emphasized the performance was driven by the professionalism and teamwork of all personnel in executing the company’s mandate.
“Up to today, we are still trusted by the leadership and by the state to continue our service managing oil palm trees,” he added.
B40 Energy Output Target Still Under Study
At the same event, Head of Agrinas Palma’s Communication and Institutional Division, Renaldi Zein, explained that the national target of producing 1.5 million kilolitres of B40 biodiesel remains a long-term goal requiring major investment.
“That is a long-term target. It could also be a medium-term target—developing biodiesel as a fuel made from palm oil blended with diesel,” Renaldi told reporters.
However, he stressed the program is still at the research and in-depth study stage.
“And it will require significant investment,” he added.
From Infrastructure Consultant to Palm Oil SOE
Agrinas Palma Nusantara was previously known as PT Indra Karya (Persero), a state-owned company that originally focused on infrastructure services. In early 2025, the company transformed into a palm plantation enterprise.
According to its official website, Indra Karya was established in 1961 as an engineering consulting SOE. However, in 2025 the company expanded its business scope into construction consultancy and plantation management.
The transformation was formalized through the Decree of the Minister of Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. AHU-0012457.AH.01.02.Year 2025, approving changes to the company’s articles of association on 21 February 2025.
With its large land portfolio and revenue performance in its first year, Agrinas Palma is now among the SOEs under public attention as Indonesia pushes to strengthen the palm oil industry while supporting the national energy security agenda. (T2)
