Finance Minister Uncovers Palm Oil Export Manipulation by 10 Companies

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA — Indonesia’s Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has revealed that 10 palm oil companies are suspected of under-invoicing exports by up to 50%, significantly reducing state revenue.

The findings stem from data analysis by the National Single Window (LNSW) system. “They will be pursued, and they can no longer play games,” Purbaya said.

While company names were not disclosed, he confirmed President Prabowo has been informed. The government is also cracking down on similar practices in the steel sector involving foreign operators.

Under-invoicing not only erodes tax revenue but also distorts competition. The government hopes strengthened data-based enforcement will protect national revenue and domestic industries. (T2)
