InfoSAWIT, BEKASI — The Citra Widya Edukasi Palm Oil Polytechnic (Poltek CWE) has once again produced a new generation of palm oil professionals. In its 3rd Applied Bachelor and 17th Associate Degree graduation ceremony, a total of 166 graduates were officially inaugurated, ready to contribute to Indonesia’s palm oil sector.
The auditorium of Poltek CWE was filled with a mix of pride and emotion as the graduates celebrated a milestone that marks their transition from student life to a more challenging professional phase. The ceremony took place on Saturday afternoon (27/9).
In his remarks, Poltek CWE Director St. Nugroho Kristono emphasized that graduation is not an endpoint, but the beginning of broader service.
“This ceremony symbolizes your success in completing one phase of life, and now you must prepare to enter the next phase as autonomous individuals,” he said.
The 166 graduates consist of 42 from the Diploma III Program in Oil Palm Plantation Cultivation, 48 from Plantation Processing, 41 from Logistics Management, and 35 from the Applied Bachelor Program in Plantation Crop Production Technology. A total of 58 graduates earned the cum laude distinction, demonstrating consistently strong academic quality.
Nugroho also highlighted the crucial role of alumni in supporting smallholder oil palm development. He expressed hope that many graduates would return to their family smallholdings to apply their knowledge in management, organizational strengthening, and farmer empowerment.
“Our alumni can serve as facilitators and advisors for smallholder replanting, strengthening farmer institutions, and supporting ISPO certification,” he stated during the graduation ceremony attended by InfoSAWIT in Bekasi in late September 2025.
To face the complexities of the palm oil industry, Poltek CWE instills three core traits in its students: Responsiveness (Tanggap), Resilience (Tanggon), and Agility (Trengginas).
Responsiveness refers to awareness, adaptability, and the ability to provide practical solutions.
Resilience encompasses mental strength, dedication, and sustained commitment.
Agility means speed, accuracy, and tactical readiness.
“These three values complement each other and form the integrity and professional leadership needed in the palm oil industry,” Nugroho affirmed. (*)
