Wilmar Earns Setara Institute Award as Early Adopting Company for Human Rights Commitment

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA — Wilmar’s commitment to embedding human rights (HR) principles in business practices has again earned recognition. The company received the Setara Institute Award as an Early Adopting Company with a “B” rating for its human rights performance.

The award was presented during the Business and Human Rights Appreciation Night held on Tuesday (26/11) in Jakarta, under the theme “Continuous Corporate Improvement in Responsible Business Practices as the Key to National Development.”

According to Setara Institute’s assessment, companies categorized as Early Adopting have begun implementing HR approaches within their operations, but still need to broaden the integration of HR principles across full value chains.

Wilmar’s Human Capital Head, Erlina Panitri, noted that the recognition motivates the company to deepen its sustainability and human rights commitments.

“Balancing business interests and respect for workers’ rights is one of Wilmar’s pillars of sustainability,” she said.

Setara Institute, established in 2005, is known for monitoring social tolerance, democracy, and human rights compliance across public and private institutions. (T2)
