InfoSAWIT, KUALA LUMPUR — Six global buyers were honored during the RSPO RT2025 conference for their commitment to supporting sustainable palm oil smallholders through credit purchasing schemes. The recognition was facilitated by FORTASBI in collaboration with the World Resources Institute (WRI) and RSPO.
Of the 10 award recipients, six attended the ceremony on 4 November:
- Nestlé S.A.
- Unilever Asia Private Limited
- Kao Corporation
- AchieveNow B.V.
- Procter & Gamble
- SC Johnson and Son, Inc
(Also awarded: Clariant International Ltd, McCormick & Company, Felleskøpet Agri SA, PepsiCo)
FORTASBI emphasized that these buyers play a crucial role in strengthening smallholder capacity, improving production systems, and promoting better governance.
“These buyers are not just purchasing credits—they are helping drive the transformation of smallholder palm oil,” a FORTASBI representative said.
The organization hopes the momentum gained at RT2025 will strengthen global collaboration and raise the sustainability profile of Indonesia’s smallholder sector. (T2)
