KPBN CPO Price Rises Friday Despite Weakness on Malaysian Exchange

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The price of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) at PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) was set at Rp14,678/kg on Friday (9/26/2025). This marks an increase of Rp78, or approximately 0.53%, compared to Thursday’s price of Rp14,600/Kg.

According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the CPO Franco Dumai price was fixed at Rp14,678/Kg. The Loco Long Pinang price opened at Rp14,193/Kg but resulted in a Withdrawal (WD), with the highest bid reaching only Rp10,000/Kg.

Meanwhile, palm oil futures trading on the Malaysian exchange closed lower on Friday (9/26/2025), marking its third consecutive weekly decline. The drop was primarily driven by profit-taking among traders following earlier bullish projections for the next year. Market sentiment was further dampened by the lack of significant progress in agricultural export talks between the United States and China.

The benchmark CPO contract for December 2025 delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange closed down RM43 per ton, or 0.97%, settling at RM4,396 (US$1,041.95) per metric ton. The contract showed a weekly decline of 0.66%.

From the demand side, India—the world's largest edible oil importer—is expected to increase its vegetable oil imports by 4.6% to a record high of 17.1 million tons in the 2025/26 season. This increase is driven by higher palm oil purchases, as revealed by industry analyst Dorab Mistry at the Globoil conference in India.

Separately, Oil World analyst Thomas Mielke projected that global prices for both palm oil and soybean oil could potentially rise by US100toUS150 per ton between January and June 2026 due to tightening supply.

In other vegetable oil markets, the most active soybean oil contract in Dalian fell by 0.22%, while the palm oil contract on the same exchange saw a slight increase of 0.24%. Soybean oil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade corrected by 0.28%.
