DxP Dami Mas IGR Seed Offers Ganoderma-Tolerant Solution for Palm Oil Replanting

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The DxP Dami Mas IGR (Intermediate Ganoderma Resistant) seed variety was the highlight of a customer gathering hosted by PT Dami Mas Sejahtera, the seed division of Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food. The event, held on Thursday (September 18, 2025), was attended by nearly 100 customers.

This superior seed was developed through extensive research and field trials by the SMART Research Institute (SMARTRI). Its key advantage is its resistance to Ganoderma boninense, the fungus causing basal stem rot, a persistent problem in oil palm plantations. On infected land, the DxP Dami Mas IGR has been shown to perform up to 50% better than conventional varieties.

“Replanting is a crucial phase in the cultivation cycle. With a Ganoderma-resistant variety like DxP Dami Mas IGR, farmers and companies can ensure long-term productivity,” said the VP of Agronomy for Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food.

Suryanto Bun, CEO of PT Dami Mas Sejahtera, emphasized that the introduction of the IGR variety is part of the company's commitment to help customers address productivity and sustainability challenges. “We want to provide real solutions that help farmers and companies strengthen their plantations, not just increase yields,” he said.

In addition to showcasing the new seed, the event included discussions on effective replanting practices and an awards ceremony for outstanding customers. The DxP Dami Mas IGR is seen as a vital solution for the Indonesian palm oil industry as it strives to achieve the national target of 7 tons per hectare. (T2)
