InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Efforts to drive digital transformation in the palm oil plantation sector continue. PT LAT Trisakti, in collaboration with the Indonesian Palm Oil Technology Institute (ITSI), has officially introduced the first batch of students from its Information Systems and Technology program. They will undergo an industrial internship at a client's plantation using the mySAP365 system from September to December 2025.
This program marks a significant milestone in regenerating human resources for plantations, particularly in implementing the mySAP365 Agribusiness Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This system is used by several palm oil companies to integrate their supply chains, record plantation productivity, and monitor the efficiency of operational costs in real-time.
"The younger generation must be prepared to master digital systems, which are increasingly crucial for the future of palm oil plantations. Through this industrial internship, students will not only learn theory but also get to practice how mySAP365 works in the field," said a representative from PT LAT Trisakti's management in an official statement received by InfoSAWIT on Tuesday (9/16/2025).
Throughout the program, students will be placed at several client plantations using mySAP365. They will delve into the system's application, from recording harvests and managing labor to plant maintenance and data integration with the company's central control hub.
Student welfare is also a priority. During the program, PT LAT Trisakti will cover accommodation and transportation needs, allowing participants to focus on their on-the-job learning.
The digitalization of palm oil plantations is an inevitable trend. With a national palm oil area of 17.3 million hectares, technology-based management is considered key to increasing efficiency and transparency. Systems like mySAP365 can minimize production losses from manual recording while supporting the implementation of sustainable plantation practices that are increasingly demanded by the global market.
"The Indonesian palm oil industry must move quickly towards data-based management. The young generation, equipped with field experience, will be the driving force of this change," the LAT Trisakti management added.
Through this collaboration, a new generation is expected to emerge who not only master information technology but also understand the complexities of palm oil plantations. Their presence in the industry is hoped to strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesian palm oil in the global market. (T2)
