InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The price of crude palm oil (CPO) at PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) was set at Rp14,600/kg on Friday (22/8/2025). This marks an increase of approximately Rp100/kg (0.69%) from Thursday’s highest bid price of Rp14,500/kg.
According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the CPO price for Franco Belawan & Dumai was set at Rp14,600/kg. The Loco Talang Duku price was set at Rp14,400/kg.
Meanwhile, Reuters reported that palm oil futures on the Malaysian exchange strengthened on Friday, putting them on track for their third consecutive weekly gain. This market rebound followed three straight days of declines, fueled by a rise in competing vegetable oils on the Dalian and Chicago exchanges, as well as solid export data and limited production growth.
The benchmark CPO contract for November delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange rose RM37 per ton, or 0.83%, to RM4,497 (US$1,063.62) per ton during the midday trading break. For the week, prices have gained 0.56%.
On the Dalian Exchange, the most active soyoil contract rose by 0.52%, while its palm oil contract slightly fell by 0.17%. Meanwhile, soyoil on the Chicago Board of Trade corrected down 0.26% after jumping 4.73% the previous day. Palm oil prices often follow trends in other vegetable oils due to their competition in the global market.
Trade sources noted that for the first time, Indian importers have purchased palm oil from Colombia and Guatemala. Producers in both countries offered surplus stock at a significant discount, attracting buyers. At the same time, Malaysian palm oil product exports for the August 1-20 period rose by 13.6% to 17% compared to the same period last month, according to data from Intertek Testing Services and AmSpec Agri Malaysia.
