InfoSAWIT, BANDA ACEH — Muhammadiyah Youth of Aceh reaffirmed their commitment to improving palm oil farmers’ welfare through active participation in a national event showcasing innovation and fostering collaboration across the industry.

Zul Hafiyan, Chairman of Muhammadiyah Youth Aceh, said the organization sent three of its best cadres in the palm oil sector — Fauzan Putraga Albahri, Zulfazli, and Yoyon Nofanta — to represent Aceh at the national level.

“This participation reflects our seriousness in empowering independent smallholder farmers and promoting sustainable development in the sector,” Zul said in a statement received by InfoSAWIT on Sunday (10/8/2025). He added that effective fund management to support industry growth should also stimulate small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in local communities.

Zul urged the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) to continue providing financial and technical support for SMEs in the palm oil sector, especially in Aceh. He stressed that BPDP’s mission to boost the contribution of palm oil, cocoa, and coconut to the national economy must directly benefit communities around plantations.

Fauzan Putraga Albahri, one of the delegates, expressed gratitude to BPDP for giving Muhammadiyah Youth Aceh the opportunity to showcase palm-based local products at the exhibition in Riau. The group presented items ranging from palm oil–based perfumes and eco-print materials to Acehnese souvenirs and other market-ready innovations.

“This is a big opportunity for us to introduce local products from the Land of the Veranda of Mecca. God willing, if given the chance, we will bring similar programs to Aceh and develop them further,” Fauzan said. He added that the group plans to involve more local SMEs in future programs so the benefits can be felt more widely by palm oil farmers. (T2)
