InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero) has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the fulfillment of employee rights at PT Duta Palma. This statement was made during a coordination meeting held by the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) in Jakarta on Tuesday, August 5, to discuss labor issues at the company.
The meeting, led by the Director of Industrial Relations Dispute Resolution at Kemnaker, Agatha Widianawati, was attended by representatives from various parties, including the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), the Forest Area Control Task Force (Satgas PKH), PT Danantara Asset Management (Persero), and legal representatives from Duta Palma and Agrinas Palma. The primary agenda was to address a complaint filed by the Regional Coordinator of the Indonesian Prosperous Labor Union Confederation (Korwil K-SBSI).
Agrinas Palma Clarifies Its Role as Asset Manager
The Director of Human Resources and General Affairs at PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara, Memed Kosasih Setia Putra, explained that the company has been acting solely as the manager of Duta Palma's seized assets since March 2025. This appointment was officially handed over by the Attorney General's Office through the Ministry of BUMN.
"Since we began managing these assets, all working employees have been registered in the BPJS social security program and have received their rights. This is a form of our concern for the livelihoods of the workers while we await a final legal verdict," said Memed in an official statement obtained by InfoSAWIT on Friday, August 8, 2025.
This statement was supported by Brigadier General Putut Witjaksono Hadi from the Satgas PKH. He revealed that the social security situation for Duta Palma employees has actually improved since Agrinas Palma took over. "When Duta Palma managed the assets, not all employees had social security. When Agrinas Palma took over, the conditions improved significantly," he explained.
The Satgas PKH also requested that Duta Palma's head office promptly prepare a complete database for 16 employees who are nearing retirement for verification purposes.
Kemnaker and BUMN Urge Duta Palma to Be Proactive
Kemnaker's Director of Industrial Relations Dispute Resolution, Agatha Widianawati, encouraged Duta Palma to be more proactive in tracing information for employees demanding retirement benefits. Similarly, a representative from the Ministry of BUMN explained that Agrinas Palma's appointment was intended to preserve the economic value of the evidence and ensure the livelihoods of the employees.
"Agrinas Palma's appointment as manager is moral and legal, but it does not change the employment status of the staff, who remain under Duta Palma," the BUMN representative stated.
Okky Suryono, Senior Executive Vice President of Corporate Secretary & ESG at Agrinas Palma, added that the President Director has instructed that there be no layoffs and that all employees, including 10 Duta Palma staff now working at Agrinas Palma's head office, be provided with work.
"We are only managing entrusted assets and have not taken over the employment status. However, in good faith, we are ensuring that operations continue and that the basic rights of the employees are fulfilled," Okky said. (T2)
