InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA — Cross-sector commitment to advancing education and human resources has been reinforced. On Sunday (August 3), at the Institut Nalanda campus in Jakarta, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Institut Nalanda and the Indonesian Planters Society (IPS). This momentum was facilitated by the Buddhist Community Guidance Organizer (Bimas) of the Ministry of Religion of East Jakarta.
The signing marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between two institutions that share a vision of building the nation through strengthening human resource capacity, particularly in education and the professional plantation sector.
Institut Nalanda is known as a higher education institution that upholds values of wisdom and is committed to producing superior and character-driven generations. Meanwhile, IPS is a professional organization in the plantation sector, whose members include plantation owners, directors of palm oil companies, managers, and employees from various regions in Indonesia and even abroad.
Through this collaboration, both parties agreed to work together in human resource development, vocational training, applied research, and community empowerment programs based on values and professionalism. Not only expanding networks, this partnership is also expected to create new spaces for idea exchange and enhance the competencies of the younger generation.
“The role of these two institutions as facilitators is a tangible manifestation of cross-sector synergy, especially between religious institutions, education, and the professional world,” said Joko Santoso, the Buddhist Community Guidance Organizer of the Ministry of Religion of East Jakarta, who was present at the event. He emphasized that this collaboration reflects a collaborative spirit for mutual advancement.
The MoU signing was attended by IPS leadership, including the Chairman, Secretary General, Heads of Departments, and several key figures in the organization. The atmosphere of the event was warm and filled with a spirit of togetherness, marking a positive start for future collaborative agendas.
IPS Chairman Jamalul, in his speech, expressed appreciation for the establishment of this cooperation. “This is a very strategic first step. The Institut Nalanda also welcomed this collaboration as an opportunity to expand higher education contributions to national strategic sectors. According to them, this collaboration is a tangible manifestation of the application of wisdom values in the professional world.
