InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The price of crude palm oil (CPO) at PT. Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) was set at IDR 14,576/kg on Monday (July 21, 2025), marking an increase of approximately IDR 21/kg or 0.14% compared to the CPO price on Friday (July 18, 2025), which reached IDR 14,555/kg.
According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the price of CPO Franco Belawan was set at IDR 14,576/kg. The price for Franco Dumai opened at IDR 14,576/kg, but there was a withdrawal (WD) with the highest bid price of IDR 14,425/kg. The price of CPO FOB Talang Duku opened at IDR 14,376/kg, but there was a withdrawal (WD) with the highest bid price of IDR 14,283/kg.
Meanwhile, as reported by Reuters, the price of crude palm oil (CPO) on Bursa Malaysia corrected again on Monday (July 21, 2025), erasing gains recorded in the previous session. The pressure came from the decline in global soybean oil prices and expectations of weaker exports.
The benchmark contract price for crude palm oil (CPO) for October 2025 delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange fell by RM41 per ton or 0.95%, settling at RM4,274 per metric ton during the midday break. This price is equivalent to approximately USD 1,008.73 per ton.
According to David Ng, an analyst and trader at Kuala Lumpur-based trading firm Iceberg X Sdn Bhd, the pressure on the CPO market primarily stems from two main factors: the decline in soybean oil prices and low export demand thus far.
“The palm oil futures market tends to weaken following lower soybean oil prices, as well as expectations for exports that have not shown significant improvement,” Ng stated, as reported by Reuters.
In other commodity markets, the most active soybean oil contract price in Dalian (DBYcv1) recorded a decline of 0.27%, while the palm oil contract price on the same exchange rose slightly by 0.38%. On the other hand, soybean oil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade also fell by 0.27%, further reinforcing the pressure on Malaysian CPO prices.
