InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The price of crude palm oil (CPO) at PT. Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) Inacom was set at IDR 14,000/kg on Tuesday (April 29, 2025), marking a 0.32% increase or an increase of approximately IDR 45/kg compared to the highest CPO price offered on Monday (April 28, 2025), which reached IDR 13,955/kg.

From the information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the price of CPO Franco Belawan, Kuala Tanjung & Dumai is set at IDR 14,000/kg. Meanwhile, the price of CPO Franco Talang Duku is set at IDR 13,800/kg.

In contrast, as reported by Reuters, the price of palm oil contracts on the Malaysian Exchange fell for the second consecutive session on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, due to a stronger ringgit and weaker competing vegetable oils weighing on the market. The benchmark palm oil contract for July 2025 delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange dropped RM25 per ton, or approximately 0.63%, to RM3,940 (US$910.98) per metric ton at the close of the session.

The continuous decline in palm oil prices is attributed to the stronger ringgit, which has prompted large-scale selling activity in the market, according to a trader based in Kuala Lumpur. The ringgit, the currency used for palm oil trade, strengthened by 0.8% against the dollar, making the commodity more expensive for buyers holding foreign currencies.

Additionally, the most active soybean oil contract on the Dalian Exchange fell by 0.84%, while the palm oil contract dropped by 1.72%. The soybean oil price on the Chicago Board of Trade decreased by 1.13%.
