InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Crude palm oil (CPO) at Cif Rotterdam in September was US$ 1.235/ton which was more expensive in August about US$ 1.226/ton while soybean oil (Dutch, ex mill) got cheaper from US$1.435/ton to be US$ 1.405/ton, sunflower oil (FOB NW Europe) did too from US$ 1.380/ton to be US$ 1.333/ton and rapeseed oil (Dutch FOB) got more expensive to be US$ 1.606/ton from US$1486/ton.

“CPO getting more expensive may happen for the smaller stocks in the early of September 2021 which reached 3,4 million tons, or 1,1 million tons less in the early of August 2021,” Executive Director of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Mukti Sardjono said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Thursday (11/11/2021).

Domestic use in September 2021 reached 1.475 thousand tons which were relatively the same in August (1.465 thousand tons). Palm oil for food decreased to be 672 thousand tons from 718 thousand tons in August (-6,4%), oleo-chemical needs were relatively the same but biodiesel needs increased to be 622 thousand tons from 569 thousand tons in August (+9,3%).

CPO production in Indonesia in September 2021 reached 4.176 thousand tons or decreased about 1% from August. The numbers did not increase yet. CPO production in Malaysia was decreasing 0,39% from August production. “By small production and decreasing exports, the late stocks in September still increased to be 3,65 million tons from 3,43 million tons in August in Indonesia,” Mukti said.
