InfoSAWIT, PELEMBANG – At least, there were 17 figures from South Sumatera who got awards in Malam Inspirasi Sriwijaya 2019. It was done in Hotel Aryaduta. Palembang, Friday, 20 December 2019. It was initiated by the Lembaga Masyarakat Sumsel, Lintas Politika, and it was the fifth.

“This is the place in Bumi Sriwijaya to appreciate the work of the people here, both in and out of South Sumatera,” Director of Lintas Politika, Khoirul Mukhlis said.

One of the figures getting the award is Sumarjono Saragih. He was chosen by representing the stakeholders. He is taken as the active stakeholder in the organization, and consistent in palm oil, both in promotion, and in denying the accusation from the black campaigns.

Sumarjono said that getting the award could be the new energy to encourage the advocacy and promotion of palm oil knowing that the anti - palm oil and discriminatory keep rising. “We have to be together to deny the accusations namely palm oil has ‘already’ become the pillar of the exchange to this country,” he recently said.

Now palm oil sector could provide about 16 million employments, and there are 2 million smallholders. This becomes the pulse of the economy in this nation. “Palm oil should win. Hopefully, the night of inspiration of Sriwijaya could be the inspiration for the young generations to care about palm oil,” he said.

In the event, some other figures getting the award were Prof. Jimly Asidiqi (the Former Chairman of Constitutional Court), Letnan Jenderal (Ret.) Burhanuddin Amin (The Former of Pangkostrad), and the former Major of Palembang who succeeded to manage the city, Eddy Santana Putra (now as the Indonesian Legislators). (T2)
