InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - In 2005, there was a change on the popularity of the vegetable oil in the world. Palm oil influences the change. Crude palm oil (CPO) and crude palm kernel oil (CPKO) become the attention of the world. They are very potential as the material of the vegetable oil, not only used to food material, but also to non – food oil.

One year later, in 2006, Indonesia succeeded to be the biggest palm oil producer in the world. The success becomes the good moment as the tropical country in Asia to win the vegetable oil production and surpassed Malaysia.

The success of Indonesia to win vegetable oil production in the world, in general, was influenced by three factors, they are, the first is the wide agricultural and plantation areas which have good condition to plant palm oil. The second is the tropical climate that supports the fertility of palm oil, and the third is the capability of superior seeds which are produced by the producers themselves to have high productivity when harvesting.

By the three factors, palm oil plantations grow well in Indonesia. The plantations have become the pillars of economy for most villagers who live in the remote areas. The main capital derives from the agricultural and plantation.

For they have good nature, such as, the areas, their economy is developing if the villagers successfully cultivate theirs. On the other hand, the limited cultivation practices from some villagers become the boomerang to develop theirs too. (T1)
