InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA –Chairman of Pengurus Pusat Keluarga Alumni Instiper Jogjakarta (KA-Instiper), Priyanto PS said that the alumni of Instiper Jogjakarta have been reaching about 14 thousand men. About 60% of them work in palm oil sector.
It is admitted or not, Instiper Jogjakarta has contributed to develop palm oil plantations in Indonesia. Because of the reason, on Friday (26/10/2018) there was a National Seminar within the theme “Kelapa Sawit Sebagai Penopang Kemandirian Pangan & Energi Nasional” in Hotel Grand Mercure, Kemayoran, Jakarta.
Priyanto said, the event was un-separated event inMusyawarah Nasional Keluarga Alumni Instiper Jogjakarta to elect the new chairman that would lead KA-Instiper Jogjakarta. “It is very relevant if we do the event within the theme, palm oil. In addition the commodity is one pillar of the economy nationally from agricultural sector. It could run the economy in many villages, and has the other multiplier effects,” Priyanto said in his opening speech that InfoSAWITalso attended.
But he said, palm oil plantations in the future still have many challenges to be faced both in the competitiveness issues with other countries and the other technical issues and the small modal from the smallholders.
The other is that the increasing currency of United States (US) Dollar towards Rupiah and the crude oil. So the policy about crude palm oil mixture to diesel (B20) could help to save the exchange. “In the future we have to concentrate to palm oil in the very long term period,” he said.
He also mentioned, for there are massive negative issues still, it needs to develop and explain as best as we could to the young generations to understand this industries so that they would not be confused anymore. “We have to fight for that this commodity could develop and be the pillar of the economy in this country,” he said.
Every side should be aware of this to unite our thought and move to win this game and palm oil could increase the prosperity of the nation. “Hopefully the developing thought in this seminar could give input to answer the challenges,” Priyanto said. (T2)
