InfoSAWIT, BANGKO –The people’s replanting program in District ofMerangin takes PT Kresna Duta Agroindo (KTA). In 2017, 500 hectaresof the people’s areas need replanting program. The first replanting that had been done last week was done by the Regent of Merangin Al Haris. The event was done in Village of Penang Merah, Sub district of Pamenang Barat.

“500 hectares have been in the program. But we would like to add the program to be 1000 hectares. The goal is that the people could join the program,” the Regent said.

Through the replanting program, the Regent hoped, the smallholders could have better lives knowing that they only depend on palm oil trees that are not productive anymore.

If the people’s areas are productive, he continued, they would have better income in District of Merangin and they could fulfill their needs.

The Regent also struggles that the old palm oil trees in the district could have the program in phase in every single year.

He also hoped, the smallholders could support the program. “We need that the smallholder could fulfill every condition, such as, the document of their areas. That is one of the condition,” he said, as quoted fromtribunjambi.com.

Meanwhile CEO PT Kresna Duta Agroindo, Ben Josuwa emphasized, the replanting program that has been running should run well without problem to face.

He admitted, some problems kept happening. For example, the smallholders did not want to join the program, the document of land ownership, and the commitment to run it. “We replant the independent smallholders’ areas. We prepared the seeds, and we should in cooperation,” he said.(T3)
