InfoSAWIT, MEDAN–Ministry of Industry launched the Program Pendidikan Vokasi Industri in Sumatera in PT Sugar Medan Industry, Medan Industrial Zone or Kawasan Industri Medan, North Sumatera Province.

“In the launching day of industrial vocational education, there would be agreement of cooperation among 107 companies and 226 Vocational Schools in northern Sumatera,” Secretary of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto said in Medan, Monday.

It was attended by Coordinator Secretary in Economy, Darmin Nasution and Secretary of Education and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy.

Some regions in northern Sumatera would be Aceh (3 companies and 9 Vocational Schools), North Sumatera (54 companies and 117 Vocational Schools), West Sumatera (7 companies and 20 Vocational Schools), Riau (5 companies and 38 Vocational Schools), andKepulauan Riau(37 companies and 41 Vocational Schools).

The agreement of cooperation to sign would be 448 agreements because one Vocational School could be developed by some companies based on the skill in the Vocational Schoolsrelating to the industrial sector in the school.

After in northern Sumatera, the launch of Program Vokasi Industriwould be in phase to do in Jakarta and southern Sumatera, and would cover, Jambi, Bengkulu, South Sumatera, Bangka Belitung and Lampung.

Ministry of Industry, by 2019, targeted, there would be 1.775 Vocational Schools to develop and would cooperate with the industries within estimation, the graduate would would  be 845.000 men. “After the launch, there have been 1.240 Vocational Schools with 412 companies," Airlanggasaid, as quoted from Antara.

In the same opportunity, he also gave pin of training to increase the competence and certificate for the boiler operators in palm oil industries for 62 men.(T3)
