InfoSAWIT, DUMAI –Chairman of Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food, Franky O. Widjaja said,  the joint venture between Golden Agri-Resources Ltd and CEPSA Ltd.,called, Bernama Sinar Mas CEPSA, has its visionary to be the number onefatty alcohols in vegetable – base and derivative producer globally within the sustainable chain of stock.

“The  vertical integration of Sinar Mas Cepsa andthe inauguration of the factory in Dumai is the important thing that we have done to get and realize the vision. Through the joint venture, we could increase th additional value of palm oil derivative products and keep creating the employement in Indonesia,” Franky said when inaugurating the factory.

The factory was constructed for about two years. It would produce fatty alchohol from sustainable kernel oil as the main ingredients to make daily products, such as, houses, and personal care.

Deputy CEO Sinar Mas CEPSA, José Maria Solana added, this is the first time that Cepsa produces chemical ingredients deriving from vegetable oil, not fossil. It is in new location, new business, and new market too.

The factory in Dumai would have capacity about 160.000 metric tons of fatty alchohol per year. The selling of fatty alcholol gets more as the material for personal care products and liquid detergent. The main focus of selling is the Asian markets. (T3)
