Time to Boost the Work of PTPN III Holding

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA –Though it has been mergered to be holding, the red plate company is considered not to develop fast. The problems and cultivation management are the main agenda. The improvement were done to increase the work and productivity.

Three years ago, the government decided to merger its palm oil companies to be one unit (holding). It is managed by PT Perkebunan Nusantara III as the main company through the Government Regulation (GR) No. 72 / 2014 on 17 September 2014, about the Modal Addition from Indonesian Republic to the Modal of Company (‘Persero’). PT Perkebunan Nusantara III, the holding company for PT Perkebunan Nusantara I, II, and IV until XIV.

The modal inclusion was done by the government to the shares of PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero) reaching 90% deriving from the share diversion belonging to Indonesian Republic, reaching Rp 10,19billion.

It is believed, this could trigger the work of the government company to make more maximal result compared to the previous which might be not satisfied yet.

Unfortunately, in the second year, the company faced bad luck. In the first semester 2016, PTPN III Holding had debts about Rp 33,24billion. This debt is the consolidation of 13 PTPN managed by PTPN III. It is said, if it was not paid, the debt could bother the future work.

This condition even threatened some PTPN if not paid and well managed. It was noted too, PTPN III Holding got losses about Rp 823,43billion in the first semester 2016.

The numbers got more compared to those in 2015 which reached Rp 613,27billion. While the income in the first semester 2016 the company got Rp13,36billion.

If in 2016 the financial condition of PTPN III Holding was in trouble, the consistent management of the company having asset reaching Rp 109,72 billion starts better.

In the first quarter 2017, PTPN III Holding noted the net profits reaching Rp 488 billion. The numbers increased 181% compared to the same period in 2016 which got losses reaching Rp 604 billion.

Director of Holding Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) III, Dasuki Amsir, said, the increasing net profits were supported by the increasing selling, the increasing productivity, better price, and the efficiency to press the main things. “The focus of the company has no change, that is, by increasing the productivity, and implementing the culture technic when cultivating the areas,” he recently said in Jakarta.

Dasuki also said, the less cost of main things could be done but not to the human resources (persons). The main cost decreased up to about 30% to 35%.

Dasuki explained, the fertilizer and the person become the highest cost in the company. The two sectors contribute to the production costs, reaching up to 70%. “So the people should be productive and make profits. The fertilizer should be well applied too,” he said. (T3)
