InfoSAWIT, KETAPANG –To increase the people’s economy, Regional Government of Ketapang held Ketapang Expo 2017. It was done besides the ‘pendopo’ of Regent of Ketapang office on 11-18 July 2017. Hundreds of booth stand belonging to the government, private, and the small sellers fulfilled the location. One of them was palm oil plantation company, Bumitama Gunaja Agro (BGA) Group.
In that event, BGA Group took the Small and Middle Business developed by the company, they are, blacksmith and vegetable farmers. The small and middle businessmen had the chance to sell their products to the visitors. BGA Group also took PKK developed by the company from the plantation in Kendawangan to sell their products, such as, cake, bread, and snacks.
The company also provided health service for free during Ketapang Expo 2017. “This is our social activity to the people,” CSR Coordinator, BGA Group in West Kalimantan, Gabriel Heru Prasetyosaid in the official statement which InfoSAWIT got. The free health service is one program of implementing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of BGA Group. This is our concern to the people.
The free health service consisted of consultation with the doctor, checking collesterol, sugar level, and uric. If the people had something suspecious, BGA would recommend to do further. The check up was done by several doctors which the company had prepared. They were from BGA,” Gabriel said. Some visitors were in line to check their health issue. They were happy and thanked the doctors of BGA.
Meanwhile, the representative of BGA in District of Ketapang, Riduan said, one booth stand of BGA Group was a program to prevent the fire in the forest and areas. In that opportunitsy, the company took every people to anticipate the fire. “BGA Group in West Kalimantan had done the Fire Control Taskforce Training in Sub district of Nanga Tayap on 15-17 July 2017.” Riduan said. The fire control training was joined by the employees and staffs of BGA in Region VIII A and also the local people.
In the Ketapang Expo 2017, the company also showed the programs to prevent the fire, and display of officers’ equipments and tools. It was the right moment to socialize it, namely to take the people to keep the environment good, including to anticipate and prevent the fire.
In the end of the event, Regional Government of Ketapang gave award to BGA Group as the second best Booth Stand. Regent of Ketapang, Martin Rantan also thanked the private companies, particularly BGA Group for being the participant to support the programs of the District to increase the people’s economy. The regent told to BGA Group to keep developing and should become the partner of the District to develop the region. (T2)
