InfoSAWIT, PANGKALANKERINCI–‘Sentral Gerakan Pemuda Pelalawan (SGP-P)’ urged the related instances to review the license of PT Makmur Andalan Sawit (MAS) which operates in Sub district of Pangkalan Lesung. It is urged knowing that its palm oil factory (POF) is next to the river of Kerumutan.

Coordinators of SGP-P, Jaka Endang Aan Darlis, and Said Abu Sofyan said, as quoted from riauterkini.comrecently."The first, of course, we are sorry for the POF of PT MAS. If the fact is real, the environment pollution would be potential to happen,” he said.

As a control instance, his side questioned the existence of PT MAS which operates next to the river. "SGP Pelalawan really questions the POF of the company. Why did the government easily give the license to PT MAS by ignoring the pollution potency,” he said.

He also mentioned, there had been water pollution in the river of Kerumutan and made thousands of fishes dead. “We know, some time ago, there was river pollution and the dead fishes. No one was in charge on the case. River of Kerumutan is one source of living for the local people,” he said.(T3)
