INFO SAWIT, JAKARTA –National palm oil industries are predicted to be the mainstay of the revenye and the motor to run the national economy. The prospect of the industries in 2017 could be good for the vegetable oil fuel program in Indonesia keeps running, and Malaysia starts to increase the same program.

If the program in Indonesia and Malaysia consistently runs, the palm oil usage in the two countries, as the palm oil producers, will be more and will reduce the global supply, namely when the prouction is not too significnt. This will increase the price in the global markets.

Based on the report from Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA) the main focus to develop national palm oil industries needs priority, such as, the first, the promotion to India, Pakistan, and Middle East countries.

The second, the negative issues, such as, Franch super tax which might be running in the future days, the issue about 3-MCPD (carsinogenic material in vegetable oil) has been in Italy and it is predicted to be more though there is no scientific proof yet.

Palm oil is accused as the main factor in deforestation. This wil be the main issue in European Union. The negative issue, as the less healthier and low quality in some countreis keep being discussed in importer countries. “If this has no solution, the competitiveness of palm oil would be decreasing, namely relating to the sunflower oil,” Executive Director of IPOA, Fadhil Hasan said in the release which Info SAWIT recently got.

The third, dealing with domestic issues, such as, the peat, and fire. It needs to socialize the issues to the stakeholders, namely about the strategies to deal with. (T2)
