InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - Indonesia, as one country that has abundant natural resources, plays important roles to realize sustainable development goals by developing green energy.
In the recent days, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka proposed ambitious vision to make Indonesia as the ing of green energy in the world. in the vision, palm oil would be the main focus as source of potential energy.
Prabowo-Gibran believed that Indonesia would lead in green energy sector and the main key is about to develop it from palm oil. It is undeniable that palm oil becomes a controversy in the past few years namely about environmental impacts and deforestation. But Gibran believed that through palm oil transformation, we could create energy sustainably and prove that palm oil is not always a source of controversy.
In the beginning palm oil program ran in the form of main – plasma but by changing the program to be more inclusive, as Gibran proposed. “Prabowo Gibran thought palm oil would be the backbone of economy in Indonesia. it is proven it took 50 million men got better directly and indirectly. The numbers were from 4,2 million direct workers, 12,2 million indirect workers, and 16 dependents from every worker,” Expert Board of Tim Kampanye Nasional (TKN) Prabowo-Gibran, Panji Irawan said in Bincang Kompas that InfoSAWIT saw, Friday (19/1/2024).
Panji, the number 12 prior program from Prabowo-Gibran would be about to guarantee available fertilizers and to realize it, they proposed cooperation concept that would be the medium between companies and smallholders. It means fertilizers would be smoothly distributed for the smallholders, considering kinds of ability and potential that the smallholders have. Prabowo – Gibran planned to develop fertilizer mills in many clusters to confirm fertilizers would be equally distributed.
“Besides, the program is about to get and escalate agricultural production. By substituting unproductive areas to be productive ones, Prabowo – Gibran hoped to escalate food security in villages, regional, and national scale. They believed, this would economically deliver the positive,” he said.
Panji continued, Prabowo – Gibran is committed to support smallholders. One concrete thing to do is about to establish Badan Sawit Indonesia. The goal is about to regulate (palm oil) through one stop service to harmonize many interests. This is hoped to deliver authority needed to effectively regulate palm oil.
In the regulation perspective, Panji said, TKN Prabowo-Gibran would guarantee palm oil plantations in forest regions and area certification. “By these, Prabowo-Gibran believed Indonesia would be the green energy leader in the world while maintaining the social and environmental aspects,” he said.
