Mill Worker Was Found Dead in Boiler Machine Alone

InfoSAWIT, INHU – A tragedy happened to one worker in the mill of PT Pabrik Agro Sejahtera (PT PAS), the subsidiary of PT Rigunas Agri Utama (PT RAU) in District of Indragiri Hulu (Inhu). Welki (42), a villager of Village of Peranap, Sub district of Peranap, District of Inhu was dead because of work accident on Monday, (25/12/2023) at about 03.00 a.m.

Head of Labor Agency District of Inhu, Rengga Dwi Bramantika was committed to investigate the accident. The agency would get field investigation to check and ask for written report from the company about the whole happenings.

According to the information, Welki was a worker at PT RAU who was just transferred to PT PAS for about three years. On the tragic day, the victim was working as operator loading rem to manage fresh fruit bunch (FFB) to be put in to sterilizer.

As quoted from Kupas Berita, Rengga told that the night before the accident, Welki worked with his fellows at night shift. When working alone, the victim managed FFB to be put into the sterilizer. His fellow told that there was no FFB supply into the sterilizer.

The supervisor Suparyo and his other fellow did check the location at loading rem where the victim worked at. They found that the victim was not there, the loading rem compressor was dead but the door of sterilizer was closed.

After searching for Welki around the mill area, he was found dead in sterilizer machine together with FFB after being boiled. Evacuation was running by stopping the mill machine of PT PAS and unfortunately, the victim was dead with burns and not complete anymore.

The witness, Sofian told that he screamed out loud to get help. The victim was rush to the nearest medical center in Peranap. Though the company planned to conduct autopsy, the victim’s family decided to take the victim hoe and bury at cemetery in Village of Peranap. (T2)
