InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - Covid-19 in the early of 2020 could decrease crude palm oil (CPO) production. In 2021 CPO production decreased 1,36 percent to 2020 to be 45,12 million tons.
Data released by Central Bureau of Statistic (CBS), the 2022 CPO production increased to be 46,82 million tons or 3,77% to the 2021 production. The highest CPO production in 2022 was from Riau Province that reached 8,74 million tons or about 18,67 percent. Then it was from Central Kalimantan that reached 8,36 million tons or 17,86 percent. After that it was from West Kalimantan Barat that reached about 10,97% and North Sumatera that reached 10,79% of the total production in Indonesia.
As InfoSAWIT quoted from the official page of CBS, based on status in 2021, 60,64 percent of the total production in Indonesia or 27,36 million tons CPO were produced by big private plantations; 34,36 percent or 15,50 million tons were produced by smallholders, and 5,00 percent or 2,26 million tons were producedby government’s companies.
Thought the total 2022 production could increase, production status according to the production status was not too different from it in 2021. Big private plantation companies dominated about 28,21 million tons CPO (60,26 percent); smallholders’ production reached 16,31 million tons (34,84 percent); and the rests 2,30 million tons (5 percent) were from the government’s companies.
