InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Provincial government of Daerah Khusus Ibukota (DKI) Jakarta through Air Pollution Control Taskforce DKI Jakarta that is managed by Environment Agency DKI Jakarta sentenced administratively palm oil plantation company, PT AAJ in North Jakarta. The sanction was sentenced because PT AAJ did not obey the standards of motionless source in its chimney.

The sentence was about to deliver administrative sanction as it is written in the Decision of Head of Environment Agency DKI Jakarta Number e-0126/2023 about Implementation of Government Coercive Administrative Sanction. The sentence also emphasized that PT AAJ is obliged to improve its chimney to qualify the standards of regulated motionless source.

Head of Environment Agency DKI Jakarta, Asep Kuswanto said that Supervision and Legal Compliance, and Environmental Monitoring Officer DKI Jakarta found that fraud and could potentially pollute the air in Jakarta by PT AAJ.

"PT AAJ in its operational did mistake by not qualifying opacity parameter standards when testing emission quality of motionless source (boiler chimney) within coal fuel,” Asep said, as in the official statement that InfoSAWIT got, Wednesday (20/9/2023).

The agency got the report that PT AAJ got independently boiler emission chimney tested by the private party in July to August. The result was that it qualified the standards in every parameter. But the government did re-test to confirm the standard adjustment.

Asep also said, his agency would re-examine the result test by companies within legal sampling. “If the result is not the same with the quality standard, the sanction would be increasing,” he said. (T2)
