Besides focusing in food and energy sectors, sustainability aspect would be the key to open the door for every researcher to develop green energy.

InfoSAWIT, DELI SERDANG – On Thursday (14/3/2024), President Joko Widodo inaugurated red palm cooking oil mill in Pagar Merbau, Regency of Deli Serdang, North Sumatera Province. The initiative of the government became the focus because it contributed not only to economic development but would escalate the people’s nutrients.

InfoSAWIT, KUALA LUMPUR - Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) responded the latest report “In The Shadow of Palm Oil” by Christian Initiative Romero (CIR) and complaint published by Foodwatch and European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) that involved some RSPO members, including NaturAceites, certified smallholders’ members. RSPO did note the escalating concern among stakeholders in the whole supply chain.

InfoSAWIT, SAMARINDA – According to Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) Team of East Kalimantan Province to calculate FFB price in the first period March 2024 (1 - 15 March 2024), it is decided that the > 10 year old FFB is getting better Rp 56,92/kg to be Rp 2.410,04/Kg.

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Crude palm oil (CPO) tender at PT. Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) Inacom was Rp 13.060/kg, Friday (15/3/2024). It means, it increased Rp 60/kg or about 0,46% to Thursday (14/3/2024) tender that was Rp 13.000/kg.

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The Government of United States of America (USA) agreed to sell E15 gasoline (gasoline mixed with 15% ethanol) in this year. This would be available in April 2025, would be significant progress. USA would also regulate the restriction to sell E15 gasoline during the summer because environmental issue about smoke. The increasing ethanol consumption would lead to the decreasing biodiesel consumption.

InfoSAWIT, KUALA LUMPUR - Halal Development Corporation Bhd (HDC) supported the claim of Minister of Plantation and Commodity Malaysia, Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani to regulate the obedience to Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil and halal certificates as the terms and conditions in palm oil trade. HDC told sustainable palm oil practices should be the same with halal standards because it would show the commitment of Malaysia in Islamic and environmental principles.

InfoSAWIT, JAMBI – According to Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) Team of Jambi Province on 15 - 21 March 2024, it is decided that the 10 – 20 year old FFB is increasing Rp 65,75/Kg to be Rp 2.768,12/Kg.

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Crude palm oil (CPO) tender at PT. Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) Inacom was Rp 13.000/kg, Thursday (14/3/2024). It means it increased Rp 195/kg or about 1,52% to Wednesday (13/3/2024) tender that was Rp 12.805/kg.

InfoSAWIT, DELI SERDANG – President Joko Widodo officially inaugurated red palm cooking oil pilot project of Pagar Merbau in Regency of Deli Serdang, North Sumatra Province, Thursday, 14 March 2024. It would be the first red palm cooking oil factory in Indonesia and the good progress in palm oil industry in national scale and for smallholders’ empowerment.

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Palm oil and wood company, PT Dharma Satya Nusantara Tbk (DSNG) through its subsidiary, PT  Agro  Pratama, escalated share ownership in PT REA Kaltim Plantations (REA Kaltim) to be 35% through share subscription agreement (SSA) that was signed on 8 March 2024. The company did invest on REA Kaltim share about 15% on 16 May 2016 through its subsidiaries, PT Swakarsa Sinarsentosa and PT Agro Pratama.

InfoSAWIT, KUALA LUMPUR – Palm oil stocks in Malaysia by the late of February 2024 decreased less than 2 million metric ton (mt) for the first time in the past seven months. Malaysia Palm Oil Board (MPOB) reported that the stocks decreased 5% from the previous month with the latest stocks reaching 1.919 million mt. It was anticipated by the bigger decreasing supply than demands.

InfoSAWIT, KUALA LUMPUR – The Government of Malaysia emphasized to band discriminatory ban ‘Palm Oil Fee’ on each product that was produced in palm oil – base. If anyone is proven to be guilty, the party would be fined up to RM 250.000, as it is regulated on Trade Descriptions Act 2011.

InfoSAWIT, MEDAN – According to Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) Team of North Sumatera Province on 13 - 19 March 2024, it is decided that the 10 – 20 year old FFB is gets increased Rp 40,72/kg to be Rp 2.849,72/Kg.

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Crude palm oil (CPO) tender at PT. Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) Inacom was Rp 12.805/kg on Wednesday (13/3/2024). It means, it increased Rp 145/kg or about 1,15% to Friday (8/3/2024) tender that was Rp 12.660/kg.

InfoSAWIT, SIAK – Wilmar has conducted concrete things by developing independent smallholders in Regency of Siak, Riau Province so that they would get Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certificate. This is part of jurisdiction approach in the regency by involving five palm oil unions. Through multi-stakeholder collaboration that Regency of Siak initiated, Wilmar hoped to help the independent smallholders to escalate their ability to realize sustainability.

InfoSAWIT, KENDARI – To escalate palm oil plantation productivity and smallholders’ welfare in West Sulawesi Province, Plantation Agency West Sulawesi did significant cooperation with General Directorate of Plantation Ministry of Agriculture about smallholders replanting program (SRP) fund support in 2024.
