InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – After being officially inaugurated as the Minister of Agriculture for 2019-2024 in Istana Negara, Syahrul Yasin Limpo directly went to the Head Quarter of Ministry of Agriculture in Ragunan, South Jakarta.

In his first press conference, he took every officer in the ministry to support and develop the agriculture and plantation in Indonesia. “Let me be your friend and brother,” he said to the journalists, Wednesday (23/10/2019) in Jakarta.

He who worked as the head of village, head of sub district, vice governor, and governor in South Sulawesi for two periods, in his first 100 days, would focus to map the data of every commodity in Indonesia and would be the valid data in the agriculture and should be the only data that many sides should agree. “There should be other ministries having the data of agriculture. It should not happen,” he said.
 

He thought, this is done to provide the good data if the president would ask for. This could be shown well, for example, the data of agriculture in a village in one region, and the data in sub district, district, and province. “We have to accomplish this in the first three months,” he emphasized.

Syahrul believed, there would be no good food security without accurate data. Furthermore Indonesia has massive potentials. The agriculture could be the pillar of economy for the country. “I do hope, this could be the prestige in the future,” he said. (T2)
