InfoSAWIT, MUARA WAHAU – Palm oil plantation company, PT Dharma Satya Nusantara Tbk., (DSN) Group joined the morning meeting to the fire in the forest and areas preparation and in cooperation with the local police, army, and leaders of three sub-districts, such as, Muara Wahau, Kombeng, and Telen as the social concern to prevent the fire.

The preparation was done by Police of Kutai Timur on Thursday, 19 September 2019 in Village of Karya Bhakti, Muara Wahau, and also involved the leaders of the three and palm oil companies.

In the same time with the preparation, DSN Group also gave helps, such as, free masks to the people which were handed over by the Police Chief and taken by the leaders of the sub districts, and the employees of DSN distributed them to the people on the spot.

Chairman of Emergency and Preparation Team Area 1, DSN Group, Kokok Budianto, said that for years, DSN Group, the police, and leaders of the subdistrict are in cooperation to prevent the fire maximally.

“We have done many programs to prevent the fire in cooperation with the local police, and leaders, such as, the socialization, education, direct social visit to the people’s plantations, and same patrol,” he said in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Friday (20/9/2019).

He thought that since March 2019 when the dry season started, DSN Group did socialization about the danger of fire in 7 developed villages and 2 dusun binaan by taking the local leaders. The company also took the unions in partnership reaching 23 unions to socialize the danger of fire.

“Until now the socialization keeps running to every house of the figures and the plantation ownership. Besides, to strengthen the capacity of the fire team, the company also did field simulation to prevent the fire if it takes place,” he said.

Meanwhile Chief of Police of Kutai Timur, AKBP Teddy Ristiawan, SH, SIK, MHi in his speech in the morning meeting also suggested the people not to burn the areas or forest in Kutai Timur for it is in long dry season.

He also appreciated every side, such as, the Army, police, law officers, the local leaders, and the company for helping to prevent the fire.

“The good cooperation from every stakeholder should run and be developed to the villages too. We encouraged every element as many as it could to re-activate the fire team, masyarakat peduli api which was once made in every village to minimize the fire,” he said.

He also reminded that he would claim who burned the forest and areas in Kutai Timur firmly both done by the people, group of society, or company.

In the last years, DSN Group also gave helps of fire extinguisher to the developed villages, such as, Bea Nehas, Diak Lay, Deabeq, Muara Wahau, Nehas Liah Bing, and Miau Baru. The tools were robin pump and trained the fire time in the villages. (T2)
