InfoSAWIT, TANJUNG SELOR –Vice Chairman of North Kalimantan Legislators, Abdul Djalil Fatah urged the companies operating in the 34th province to contribute in the region and for the people.
He realized, lots of the companies do not care about the people. For example, he said, the companies are reluctant to realize the plasma areas for the people because it is the obligation of the companies.
Besides, he also knew, the companies investing in the province do not focus to downstream productions. For example, only few companies develop palm oil factories.
He also told, palm oil has kinds of downstream products. “Such as, cooking oil, soap, parfume, and others, and also fishery. So far the businessmen just exported the rusult of fisherey. On the other hand, the downstream product of fishery could be canned fish,” he said, as quoted from prokal.co.
So it could hire workers from the people around in the province. “The companies should not take the natural resource but also should contribute to the region and the people,” he said. (T3)
