InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – In Indonesia there are some companies producing oleochemical in palm oil – base. Oleochemical is produced by fat and oil that is mostly used to the pharmacy, cosmetics, and house hold needs, such as, detergent, soap, butter, and others.

PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantation (UNSP) is one of the companies producing kinds of oleochemical in palm oil – base. Investor Relations UNSP, Andi W. Setianto said, UNSP keeps developing downstream industry by developing the products.

“We keep developing oleochemical. In the future, we would develop palm oil downstream industry – crude palm oil (CPO) to be olein and palm kernel oil to be alcohol,” he recently said, as quoted from Kontan.

Until now, he explained, there are some oleochemical factories belonging to UNSP. The production capacity reaches 715 tons of oleochemical per day. “One integrated factory is in Kuala Tanjung, North Sumatera province facing Malaka Strait, one is next to Pelindo (Sea way), one is in line Palm oil Refinery (CPO to Olein) and two lines of Oleochemical (PKO to Acid – Alcohol),” he said.(T3)
