Student of Paska Sarjana or Post Graduate of University of Gajah Mada Promoted Campaign Fruit Waste to be Electricity

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA -It is not easy to change the usage of renewable energy. Besides it is new thing, the source of energy is relatively small in number though biomass is easily to get. For example, the source of energy for biogas power plant in Yogyakarta is more difficult to get.

This is the reason, the 23 year old - woman, DwiSaputri did campaign to maintain the stock of material for biogas power plant from fruit.

Dwi said, her campaign is aimed to the farmers and sellers in the traditional markets so that they could collect the waste of the fruit to be make as the material for biogas plant.

She hoped, having the stable stock, the waste would be solved and could be useful for it is the source of power plant. “My campaign is for the fruit farmers and seller,” she recently said in Jakarta.

This is her idea in the ‘Youth Leader in Sustainability’ competition. The biogas plant, she continued, has been founded since 2010. It needs fruit to operate the plants. “Every kind of fruit could be the source of biogas plants, except orange,” she said. (T2)
