InfoSAWIT, PALANGKARAYA –Before releasing orangutan to the wild, orangutan should be in the rehabilitation process. Jamartin said, the rehabilitation might be 7 years for the mother of orangutan should teach their children in those years.

The process starts in Baby School and other levels. It is like ordinary school for man until they are ready to be released to its original habitat. For example, they could climb and search for their own woof (meal).

In the final process, it needs the natural forest so that orangutan has chance to live in the natural forest. But the orangutan should be monitored to know the adaptation process. This might be about 6 months to one year.

If the orangutan is ready and passes the health test, it could be released in Bukit Raya Bukit Baka National Park in District of Katingan and the protected forest of Bukit Batikap in District of Gunung Raya.
