InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA –The government takes the smallholders to increase their productivity. The people’s plantation is not optimal to produce fresh fruit bunch (FFB).
Former Director of Palm oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA), Bayu Krisnamurthi, said, the people’s plantation still produces 2,5 to 3 tons of crude palm oil (CPO)/hectare per year.
The future target is that it should be about 5-6 tons of CPO/hectare per year or 25 tons of FFB per hectare,” he said, in the ’Pertemuan Teknis Kelapa Sawit (PTKS) 2017 in Solo Baru, Sukoharjo, as quoted fromdetik.com.
The palm oil areas in Indonesia are about 11 million hectares. 52% of the areas are cultivated by the private companies, 7% are cultivated by the government, and the rests are cultivated by the people.
“The chance to increase the production is from the people’s plantation. We support them to develop. The private companies have highly produced. We hoped, the innovation in PTKS could contribute in the people’s plantation,” he said. (T3)
