InfoSAWIT, SUKOHARJO – Palm oil seed demand in ‘Pusat Penelitian Kelapa Sawit (PPKS)’ in the first semester 2017 increased 1% after it was decreasing last year, relating to the palm oil moratorium.
Director of PPKS, Hasril Hasan Siregar said, the company sold 8,8 million seeds in the first semester in this year. Though it was hardly stagnant compared to last year in the same period, Hasril continued, palm oil companies and the planters start planting because of better CPO price than it in last year.
“The will to plant has been better and the press of moratorium policy is not as hard as it in last year,” he said, as quoted from Bisnis.com.
In 2016, the seed selling in PPKS decreased reaching about 20% to be 20 million seeds after President Joko Widodo decided about palm oil moratorium, and the effect of El Nino. (T3)
