InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Indonesia’s Trade Minister Budi Santoso stated that the domestic market obligation (DMO) policy requiring at least 35% distribution of subsidized cooking oil has proven effective in stabilizing prices and supply.
Quoting InfoSAWIT from Ministry of Trade of Indonesia, on Monday, April 20, 2026, the policy has led to a 5.45% decline in MINYAKITA prices, reaching Rp15,961 per liter as of April 10, 2026.
Distribution through Perum Bulog and state-owned food enterprises has ensured better supply coverage.
“DMO implementation exceeding 49% shows the distribution mechanism is working effectively,” Budi said.
The government continues to strengthen DMO and domestic price obligation (DPO) policies to maintain market balance, supported by strict monitoring and sanctions for non-compliant producers.
Currently, 15 provinces have achieved prices in line with the highest retail price (HET), although disparities remain in eastern Indonesia. (T2)
