InfoSAWIT, KETAPANG – PT Kayung Agro Lestari (KAL), a subsidiary of PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk. (ANJ) in Regency of Ketapang, West Kalimantan Province did welcome the visit of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA) on Wednesday, 21 February 2024.
It was part of comparative study and about to study the program of people’s independency who live at prone to fire area, particularly in Village of Kuala Tolak and Kuala Satong, Sub district of Matan Hilir Utara, Regency of Ketapang.
In the visit, IPOA was represented by some chairmen in branches, such as, Bambang Dwi Laksono, Chairman in Sustainability; and Purwati Munawir, IPOA Chairman of West Kalimantan. Some others and some management of palm oil plantation companies did join too.
Dadi Supriadi, General Manager KAL started the activity by delivering information about fire prevention that the company has done. It covered the system, infrastructures - integrated fire management (IMF), tools, personals, and trainings. After that, the participants did field visit to directly see integrated fire management system that uses satellite and every infrastructure in Fire Department of KAL.
Then they also visited Village of Kuala Tolak and Kuala Satong. In Kuala Tolak, they met Kelompok Tani Peduli Api (KTPA), that actively participated in fire prevention.
Jaslian, the representative of KTPA did appreciate the supports from KAL, including in trainings and development to the fire prevention, and developing productive economy, for instance, pineapple cultivation.
In Kuala Satong, the participants met Kelompok Tani Jeruk Satong Makmur. Abdul Hajar representing the Head Village of Kuala Satong did appreciate KAL and Tropenbos Indonesia for the development to the group.
As in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Thursday, (29/2/2024), Bambang Dwi Laksono told that the activity was about to deliver and increasing understanding to the member sof IPOA about what the company and the people do to prevent fire in the forests and areas. He thanked the management of KAL for facilitating the activity.
In the same chance, Dadi emphasized that the company is committed to prevent the fire both in main and plasma plantations by constructing, developing infrastructures, fire equipment, and development for KTPA and other groups. He encouraged the prone to fire areas should be well cultivated to escalate economic activity, such as, orange and pineapple cultivation. (T2)
